Web Development & Maintenance Committee:
About
The Web Development & Maintenance Committee was formed in April, 2002 to create and maintain this official web site for the Town of Plympton. The site was launched on March 1, 2003 at a cost of less than $1000 to Plympton taxpayers. It consists of over 300 pages, images and forms. The site currently receives approximately 1500 hits per week from all over the world. Plympton's web site site is only as useful and current as the content it displays, and that material must originate from government, community organizations and private citizens. For example, the calendar feature is a wonderful tool for all citizens, but only if organizations continue to advise the Committee of events and meetings. We encourage Plympton citizens and employees to help us keep the site a valuable and useful tool. This site is maintained and enhanced entirely by volunteers. The Committee consists of both technical and non-technical members. Non-technical members work closely with the government, business and community organizations to understand their needs and collect and edit content. Technical members (webmasters) post that content to the site, maintain calendar events and assure consistency across the sections and pages. Our objective is to keep the site fresh and useful over the coming years. To that end, the Committee is actively seeking volunteers to help in both technical and non-technical roles. Anyone interested in helping, even in a limited role, can contact the Committee at webmaster@town.plympton.ma.us or via the information on our Contact page.
